There is very good news for the fans of Royal Challengers Bangalore team, because 5 home matches of the team will be played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium only. RCB franchise confirmed on Tuesday that the Bengaluru team will play 5 matches at its regular home ground i.e. Chinnaswamy Stadium, while the remaining 2 home matches will be played in Raipur.
Last year, Royal Challengers Bangalore won the Indian Premier League title for the first time. The trophy was won for the first time, obviously the celebration had to be big but the date was June 4, 2025, when there was a stampede outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium, in which 11 people lost their lives. After that incident, there was a ban on organizing competitive matches in this ground.
RCB will not have to wander from door to door
After the incident that happened last year, questions were raised on many other issues including the safety of people at Chinnaswamy Stadium. But after several efforts by the Karnataka State Cricket Association, the Karnataka government gave permission to hold the match at Chinnaswamy Stadium. However, before giving approval, the government also put forward some conditions. The good news is that now at least the Royal Challengers Bangalore team will not have to run from pillar to post even to play their home matches.
While issuing an official statement, RCB also thanked the Karnataka Government, Karnataka State Cricket Association and Karnataka Police Department that Bengaluru has got permission to organize IPL matches again. Efforts have been made to improve the security arrangements of Chinnaswamy Stadium before the start of the next season.
7 home matches, 2 away matches
RCB team will play 5 out of seven home matches in IPL 2026 at Chinnaswamy Stadium, while its 2 home matches will be played at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur. Let us tell you that in every season a team plays 7 matches at home and the other seven away matches.
