What will be available in M5 MacBook Air now?
Apple says that the new M5 processor has a 10-core CPU and up to 10-core GPU, each core of which has a neural accelerator. Its advantage will be that the new MacBook Air will provide 4 times faster AI performance compared to the outgoing model. This MacBook is capable of handling creative workloads as well as on-device large-language model use. Its rendering performance has also been enhanced.
base storage doubled
Apple has doubled the base storage of the new MacBook Air and it now starts at 512GB and can be configured up to 4TB. Apple says that the new SSD will have twice the fast read and write speed than before, which will make file transfer and loading of large projects faster. For connectivity, it has been provided with a new N1 wireless chip. Apple claims that its battery can last for 18 hours.
Price and availability
In India, the price of 13 inch variant of the new MacBook Air will start from Rs 1,19,900 and the price of 15 inch variant will start from Rs 1,44,900. Their pre-orders will start from today and sales will start from March 11. It can be purchased in sky blue, midnight starlight and silver color options.
MacBook Pro was also upgraded
Apple has also upgraded its professional laptop MacBook Pro with M5 Pro and M5 Max chipset. The new MacBook Pro will have a premium design as before, but special focus has been placed on AI performance, memory bandwidth and faster storage. The company said that due to the new chipset, this laptop will give 4 times faster AI performance compared to the outgoing model. Its pre-orders will also start from today and it will be available from March 11.
How much is the price?
Talking about its price in India, the price of 14-inch M5 Pro MacBook Pro starts from Rs 2,49,900 and the price of laptop with M5 Max chipset starts from Rs 3,99,900. Talking about 16 inch variant, it will be available with M5 Pro chipset for Rs 2,99,900 and with M5 Max for Rs 4,29,900.
