Quoting sources, it has been claimed that the assembly has elected Khamenei’s son Mojtaba Khamenei as the new Supreme Leader. However, this decision has reportedly been taken under pressure from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Khamenei’s funeral will be held in Mashhad
According to media reports, Khamenei will be buried in his native city Mashhad. His father’s grave is also in the Imam Reza shrine in Mashhad. However, the date of the funeral has not been revealed yet.
