According to Vicky Lalwani, the name of ‘Lahore 1947’ has been changed to ‘Batwara 1947’. The decision to change the name of the film was taken last week as the team wanted to depict the tragic event of the partition of 1947 and show a larger sentiment instead of just focusing on Lahore.

During an interview with Zoom, Sunny Deol explained how the idea of ​​Lahore 1947 came about. The Border 2 star said, “This was a subject that Rajkumar Santoshi and I had been talking about for years. We kept trying to do it.” He further said, “Obviously, it became possible after Gadar. Aamir came to me and said that he wanted to make this project. Later, everyone said yes.”
Talking about the film, Sunny had said, “The subject is very emotional. Rajkumar Santoshi and I have given three intense films. There is intensity and depth in the characters in Lahore 1947. It is a play that has been adapted. Hopefully, we will try to release it as soon as possible.”
