A passenger smoked beedi in the toilet on a flight from Delhi to Goa, know what happened next

A case has been registered against a passenger for smoking beedi in the toilet of Delhi-Goa flight. Police gave this information on Sunday. Police said that the incident took place on Saturday when Ashish, a resident of Delhi, was traveling in Akasa Air flight QP-1625 from the national capital to Goa.

Allegation of smoking beedi during flight
According to a police officer, the airline said in its complaint that during the flight, the passenger allegedly smoked ‘beedi’ in the toilet of the plane and was also found with a lighter, which could have posed a threat to the safety of the plane and the passengers on board.

Threat to the safety of passengers and crew
Police said that doing so during the flight put the safety of co-passengers and crew members at risk. Police said that a case has been registered against the passenger at Mopa Airport Police Station and further investigation is underway.

Akasa Air confirmed the incident
Akasa Air confirmed the incident and said its crew ‘followed the necessary protocols.’ The airline said in a statement, ‘On March 7, a passenger was found smoking in the toilet of the aircraft on Akasa Air flight QP-1625.’ The airline said the crew ‘followed necessary protocols’ in line with safety and regulatory procedures and law and handed over the man to the relevant authorities upon arrival in Goa.
