How will Congress bring Dalits together in UP? Rahul Gandhi’s eyes on Kanshi Ram’s voters, made this plan

As part of a new effort to solve the Dalit equation in the politics of Uttar Pradesh, Congress has decided to celebrate the birthday of the founder of Bahujan Movement, Honorable Kanshi Ram, on a large scale. Congress will celebrate Kanshi Ram’s birthday on March 13 as ‘Social Change Day’ and for this, social programs will be organized in the entire state for a week.

This series will start on March 13 from Jupiter Hall of Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Lucknow. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi will participate in this program as the keynote speaker. Thinkers, social workers and people associated with various organizations from Dalit-backward society have been invited to the programme.

Is Congress trying to woo Dalit voters?

This step of Congress is being linked to the strategy of the upcoming UP Assembly elections. Party insiders believe that there is a possibility of attracting Dalit votes again in the name of the legacy of the Bahujan movement.

The party also believes that Kanshi Ram’s famous slogan ‘Jiski jitni num bhari, uski utni shadari’ is still the central idea of social justice politics. In recent years, Rahul Gandhi has been continuously raising the demand for caste census and presenting it by linking it to social representation. Congress hopes that through this agenda the Kanshi Ram supporters can be attracted towards itself.

India Block got support from Dalits and backward classes in Lok Sabha

During the Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi had made it a big political issue by accusing BJP of trying to ‘change the Constitution after getting 400 seats’. Congress and India Block believe that this campaign had helped the party gain support among Dalits and backward classes. Now the Congress leadership hopes that a new political message can be given before the UP assembly elections by keeping Kanshi Ram’s legacy and social justice issues at the center.
