Within two weeks, America and Israel might have understood that they had made such a mistake of underestimating Iran’s power, the consequences of which are not only America and Israel, but now the whole world is badly affected by this meaningless war, but the question is how Trump made this mistake. Why did the American soldiers, who were trapped in long wars first in Vietnam, then in Afghanistan and then in Iraq, not know the real strength of Iran? The most important question is that who were the advisors of Trump who wants to rule over the whole world, who had underestimated Iran’s strength while suggesting an attack to Trump and was not able to estimate the possible loss. After all, why did Trump not remember the consequences of Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan while attacking Iran? Today we will talk in detail.
If the important lessons of history are not remembered, then the present becomes exactly what is happening to America now. US President Donald Trump neither remembered the lessons of Vietnam, nor of Iraq, nor of Afghanistan, the result is that now Trump is trapped by attacking Iran. In all three American attacks in history, America and its army had assumed that the war would last for a few hours to a few days and then all would be well. But this did not happen and for 8 to 20-22 years, American troops remained stuck in these countries, kept picking up dead bodies of their comrades and the American treasury kept becoming empty. This was an important lesson, which every President of America needed to remember. But Trump is Trump, he doesn’t remember any lesson. So they forgot what had happened to America in history. Yes, he remembered Venezuela, where within a few hours he took President Maduro hostage and captured Venezuela and installed his man on the President’s chair.
Encouraged by the success of this operation, US President Trump and his advisors also attacked Iran. America then realized that with the direct help of Israel and the help of American military bases present in the Gulf countries, the change of power in Iran would be as easy as it was in Venezuela. But Trump and his advisors made the same mistake and made a terrible mistake.
Because Trump’s advisors felt that the weapons possessed by Iran were not as deadly as has been claimed by Iran. In such a situation, within a few hours of a simultaneous attack by America and Israel, Iran’s weapons will become useless and after the death of Ali Khamenei, Iran will kneel down. However this did not happen. Iran not only maintained its retaliatory capability, but also fired ballistic missiles at US warships and regional targets. These attacks were so deadly that even the defense systems of America and Israel could not function and by the time the sirens of the defense systems sounded, Iran’s ballistic missiles would have attacked.
This was just a matter of fighting. Trump and his advisors were also proved wrong about its after effects. Trump’s advisors initially felt that if Iran was attacked, the oil supply would be affected. Oil will be expensive for a few days and then oil prices will fall. Everything would be all well again, but it did not happen. Iran not only closed the Strait of Hormuz but also captured it in such a way that oil prices are continuously increasing, gas supply is getting affected and now the question is being asked only to Trump in the whole world as to when this war will end.
Therefore, there is now an atmosphere of mourning in the Trump administration. His advisors are now quietly admitting that they had made a mistake in assessing Iran’s capability. US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has even said that the Pentagon had not expected the kind of counterattack by Iran, hence America has no preparation as to how America would respond to such a retaliatory attack by Iran. In such a situation, questions are now being raised from within America itself. Because of this, even though Trump is saying publicly or on his social media platform Truth Social that America is winning this war, internally Trump has also started looking for a way out of this war. The manner in which deadly missiles fell on a girls’ school in Minab, southern Iran, during the American attack and Iranian girl students were killed, has started creating an atmosphere against Trump at the international level as well. Even though Trump is calling the attack on this school an attack by Iran, the remains of the ‘Tomahawk’ missile recovered from the debris there have exposed Trump’s lies and now Trump is on the backfoot.
But Trump or rather America has not made a mistake in understanding Iran for the first time, rather Trump has always made the mistake of considering Iran as weak. It started in the year 2018, when during his first term, Trump broke the nuclear deal with Iran. Then Trump felt that if America remains in the nuclear deal with Iran, then Iran may not be able to make nuclear weapons, but due to the weakness of the deal, Iran will not only make ballistic missiles, but it will also become more powerful through Yemen’s Houthis, Lebanon’s Hezbollah and Iraqi militias. Then Trump broke the agreement and imposed more economic sanctions on Iran so that after being economically devastated, Iran would come to its knees and then the agreement America makes with Iran would be on American terms.
But this did not happen. On the contrary, after coming out of the nuclear deal, Iran got a chance to make nuclear weapons. Immediately after withdrawing from the agreement, Iran again accelerated its uranium enrichment process and the result is that Iran can now make nuclear weapons at any time. As far as economic sanctions are concerned, Iran had found a way around the American sanctions and at the same time, Iran had made such strong friends in the form of China and Russia, which America had no match for.
Despite all the sanctions in his first term, under the leadership of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran further strengthened its relations with Hezbollah, Houthi and Iraqi militias. In view of this, America had made another attempt to break Iran. And this attempt was made in January 2020 when Iran’s General Qasim Sulemani was killed in an American drone attack, but even after that Iran did not surrender. In June 2025, when first Israel and then America attacked Iran’s nuclear plants, Iran was shocked, but it still did not surrender. Still, Trump and his advisors did not understand Iranian power, the result is that Trump, who was trying to complete the incomplete objective of his first term by attacking in the second term, is stuck again.
And those who implicated Trump are not strangers but his own. If we look at the list of Trump’s advisors, two types of advisors are seen in it. First, there are those whom Trump listens to the most and he has listened this time too, because they are the same people who always wanted war with Iran. For example, the first name among those who instigated Trump to attack is that of John Bolton, who has been America’s National Security Advisor. He is considered a staunch enemy of Iran. When Trump broke the nuclear deal with Iran in his first term, it was John Bolton who instigated it, who not only wanted to break the nuclear deal but also wanted to attack Iran. However, at that time Trump had listened to only half of John Bolton and had only broken the agreement.
The second name among Trump’s special advisors is former Secretary of State and CIA Director Mike Pompeo, who has always believed that there should be no talks with Iran but only war. Be it the plan of drone attack on Qasim Sulemani or the plan of attack on Iran’s nuclear plants in June 2025, Mike Pompeo is held responsible for it. The rest is Trump’s Defense Minister Pete Hegseth, who not only convinced Trump to attack, but even after being trapped in Iran, he is saying that America is winning and Trump is also repeating his words on the social media site Truth Social. And now Trump’s Foreign Minister, Marco Rubio, listens to him a lot. So it is not possible that Marco Rubio’s advice was not behind the attack on Iran. Because Marco Rubio has always seen Iran as a threat to America. And he has always believed that there should be war and not talks with Iran. There is one more advisor of Trump, whom Trump trusts the most in the matter of Iran. And that is Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, without whose support Trump neither attacked now nor did he attack in the past. It was the result of the intelligence given by Netanyahu that Trump directly attacked Iran, because Netanyahu was successful in convincing Trump that Iran can make a nuclear bomb at any time.
If Trump had not listened to these advisors and listened to his other group of advisors, perhaps the circumstances would have been different. Because the other group of Trump’s advisors includes people like JD Vance and Steve Witkoff, who consider talks more effective than war. As far as Trump himself is concerned, during the election campaign he has always been advocating saving America from war. In 2016, when Donald Trump started his election campaign as a presidential candidate, he presented himself as a President of America who would keep America out of wars around the world. Then he held his own party Republicans and its leaders responsible for the Iraq War and said that this was America’s biggest mistake.
Then Trump used to say that by attacking Iraq, America has not only destabilized the Middle East Asia, but America has also lost trillions of dollars and thousands of soldiers’ lives in the war, which yielded no results. Then Trump used to clearly say that America should stop being the policeman of the world. At that time he had also opposed the removal of Gaddafi in Libya or military intervention in Syria. And then the Americans also felt that perhaps Trump’s only objective was America First, so Trump had won that election. Then during the election campaign in 2024 also, Trump made the same promises which he had made in 2016. Then he presented himself as a candidate for peace and said that I am not going to start a war, but I am going to end the war. During that time, he had also said that if US President Trump had been there instead of Joe Biden, there would have been no war between Russia and Ukraine. He also talked about stopping the war between Hamas and Israel.
But what is that Trump who does not go back on his words? Even in his first term, Trump had reversed course but not as much as in the second term. In his first term, Trump did not fight any major war and was limited to a few missile attacks on Syria and the assassination of Iranian General Qasim Sulemani. But in the second term, instead of stopping any war, Trump started it himself. First in June 2025, with the help of Israel, they attacked Iran and destroyed its nuclear plants, then by sending the American army, they took away Venezuelan President Maduro from his home and now again on the last day of February, along with Israel, they launched Operation Epic Fury against Iran. But during the preparation of this operation, all the calculations of Trump have proved to be so wrong that like his previous presidents, he too is trapped in the situation of Iraq and Afghanistan. The only difference is that the American army was stuck fighting on the ground in Iraq and Afghanistan and Trump has not yet been able to muster the courage to land his army in Iran.
Therefore, seeing themselves surrounded, they are trying to end the war. They are saying that now Iran has nothing left to attack it. And by saying this, Trump is probably just satisfying his heart or the international market, because if someone asks Trump a question that what Iran does not have now to fight a war, then Trump will not be able to answer it. Because even after losing two trillion dollars and 8-10 American soldiers in the two-week war, Trump’s only achievement is the elimination of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who has been reinstalled by Iran as Mujtaba Khamenei. So the overall thing is that Trump has achieved nothing yet, while he is saying that Iran itself has nothing. And Iran is saying that now Iran will decide when this war will end. Iranian President Masoud Pajshekian has set three conditions for the end of the war. And if Trump agrees to those conditions, then it will be even more disgraceful for Trump. Trump, known for his stubbornness, will hardly accept Iran’s conditions. And if this does not happen then the war will continue for much longer.
