The Board of Control for Cricket in India i.e. BCCI had released the schedule of IPL 2026 last Wednesday (11 March). However, as of now only the schedule of the first phase of the tournament, starting from March 28, has been revealed, in which a schedule of 20 matches has been seen. But with this, a question started arising in the minds of the fans that when, where and how can they buy the tickets of the tournament.
IPL 2026 ticket information
At present, BCCI has not shared any official information regarding the tickets for the upcoming season of the tournament. But a separate section has been created for Indian Premier League tickets on Zomato’s District app. Coming Soon is written in this section. One thing becomes clear from this that ticket sales can start soon.
Registration for matches begins
BookMyShow has started pre-sale registrations for tickets for the tournament. This pre-sale registration includes matches of Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians. Matches held at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat and Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai are included. However, one thing has been made clear regarding pre-registration that there will be no guarantee of getting tickets, but there may be an opportunity to buy tickets before that.
First match in Bengaluru
According to the schedule, the first match of the tournament will be played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad in Bengaluru. But the thing to note is that clarity regarding the matches to be held at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru will be available on Friday, March 13.
While releasing the schedule, it was said in a release that the matches to be held in Bengaluru are subject to the approval of the expert committee constituted by the Government of Karnataka. On March 13, the committee will hold a meeting and assess the stadium, in which it will be decided whether the stadium has the capacity to hold the match or not.
