Scammers are sending messages of ‘Pay Now, Get Gas Tomorrow’ to people through WhatsApp, social media platforms and SMS. If you have also received such a message then be careful. This is not a message of help but of a new scam going on in the name of gas delivery.
This is how the scam starts
Scammers are promising people next day delivery of gas cylinders if they pay money now. A link is given in this message. People waiting for LPG cylinder consider the link to be genuine and make payment on it, but they do not get the cylinder. Their money goes into the account of scammers.
Fake websites are also being used
Apart from the messages, scammers are also running fake ads by misusing the logos of big gas companies. Not only this, they are also extorting money from people in the name of gas booking through fake websites. These websites have been designed in such a way that it is difficult for people to differentiate between real and fake.
Companies gave this advice to customers
All companies including Indane, Bharatgas and HP have advised their customers to avoid such scams. If you want to book a cylinder, then book the cylinder only by visiting the official websites of these companies. These companies never ask for money in advance by sending messages or links.

- To book LPG cylinder, always use the official website or your dealer’s number.
- Do not click on links from any unknown person on social media or WhatsApp.
- Do not enter your payment and card details on suspicious websites.
- Do not share your OTP and banking details with anyone.
