Batting first, Bangladesh has scored 290 runs in the third ODI. In this match being played at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Dhaka, Tanjid Hasan scored the first century of his ODI career. Whereas Liton Das and Tauhid Hridoy missed scoring half-centuries. Currently, the 3-match ODI series is tied 1-1 and if Pakistan wants to win the series, it will have to chase the target of 291 runs.
In this match, Pakistan won the toss and chose to bowl first. His decision proved wrong in the beginning because Tanjid Hasan Tamim and Saif Hasan gave a great start to Bangladesh with an opening partnership of 105 runs for the first wicket. Saif scored 36 runs, while Tanjeed Hasan was out after scoring 107 runs.
In the first 36 overs, Bangladesh had scored 194 runs at the loss of 2 wickets. Eight wickets were in hand and it seemed entirely possible for Bangladesh to reach 320-330 runs. But then Tanjeed Hasan was out on the score of 107 and from here the run rate also started slowing down. After Hasan’s dismissal, Bangladesh batsmen could add only 37 runs in the next 8 overs. Because of this, even a score of 300 seemed difficult.
Liton Das and Tauheed Hridoy started scoring runs rapidly and made a valuable partnership of 68 runs. Das contributed 41 runs and Hridoy contributed 48 runs. By the end of the 46th over, 260 runs had been scored, but in the 47th over, Haris Rauf dashed Bangladesh’s hopes of reaching 300 by taking two wickets in two consecutive balls. Bangladesh team could add only 30 runs in the last 4 overs. Now if Bangladesh wants to win the series then the score of 290 will have to be successfully defended.
