Many leaders strongly criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for calling the opposition anti-women. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh termed the address to the nation as partisan. He said that a sitting Prime Minister’s address to the nation is sacred and it is an impartial address whose purpose is to increase national resolve and self-confidence.
Jairam Ramesh took aim
He termed PM Modi’s address to the nation as a pathetic partisan and controversial attack. He said a crisis address would have been more appropriate at a press conference rather than a national address, but he is so shaken by the extraordinary legislative humiliation he faced in the Lok Sabha last night that the non-household Prime Minister is still afraid to face the media.
The Congress leader said the Prime Minister has apologized for the failure of the constitutional amendment, although he should have apologized for his shameless, fraudulent attempts to push a fraudulent delimitation proposal in the name of women. Jairam Ramesh said that his intentions are not at all clear. If one were to examine their intentions, one would only have to ask why the Nari Shakti Vandan Act, which was passed unanimously in September 2023, was notified only late at night on April 16, 2026, after a delay of 30 months.
What did Mahua Moitra say?
Apart from this, TMC MP Mahua Moitra also attacked the Prime Minister’s address to the nation and termed it as drama. He posted on X saying, ‘Your drama and Godi Media’s script will not be able to hide the truth. Reservation for women has already been passed in 2023 and has also been notified two days ago. No one can stop you from implementing it now and giving one-third of the 543 seats to women like TMC.
Kharge surrounded PM Modi
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, while counting the number of times his party was mentioned in Prime Minister Modi’s speech, said that its number was 59. Kharge said that Modi ji mentioned Congress 59 times and mentioned women only a few times. From this the country gets to know everything about his priorities. He further said that women are not the priority of BJP. Congress is there because Congress stands on the right side of history.
