Money showered on Liam Livingstone after going unsold, Kavya Maran was kind to him; SRH bought for 13 crores

After going unsold in the first round of IPL 2026 auction, Liam Livingstone has been bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the second round. SRH bought him with a bid of Rs 13 crore. Lucknow Super Giants also wanted to buy Livingstone, but they ran out of money in their purse. There was a race between KKR, SRH and Lucknow Super Giants to buy Livingstone, but in the end the Hyderabad franchise won.

The base price of Livingstone was Rs 2 crore, which remained unsold in the first round. When his name was called in the second round, the first bid was made by KKR, which was out of the race after Rs 2.80 crores. After that, Gujarat Titans also tried their hand up to Rs 4 crore, but did not have much money left in their purse.

After that, a fierce competition started between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Giants to buy Livingstone. Lucknow went up to Rs 12.80 crore, but due to not having much money left in the purse, it also dropped out of the race to buy Livingstone. Finally, Kavya Maran’s Sunrisers Hyderabad included Livingstone in their squad by bidding Rs 13 crores.

The IPL 2025 season was not very good for Livingstone, in which he scored only 112 runs in 8 innings while playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore. He was able to take 2 wickets in the entire season.

In his 49-match IPL career, Livingstone has scored 1051 runs and also taken 13 wickets. Let us tell you that after the conclusion of IPL 2025 season, Livingstone’s T20 form has gained momentum. While captaining Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred League, he scored 241 runs. During this period his strike rate was 155.48. In the last season of The Hundred League, he was also successful in taking 7 wickets. In the T20 Blast tournament, he scored 260 runs and also took 6 wickets.
