Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra gets bail in Bitcoin scam case

Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra, who has been trapped in the Bitcoin scam case for the last several days, has got relief in this matter. Actually, Raj Kundra has been granted bail in this case by the special PMLA court of Muni. Raj Kundra was accused of ‘proceeds of crime’ worth Rs 150 crore. The news of his getting bail has been given by the actor’s lawyer Prashant Patil.

What is the whole matter?
This case is related to the FIR registered in Nigdi and Nanded police stations of Pune in the year 2018. It is alleged that Amit Bhardwaj, promoter of ‘Variable Tech Private Limited’ and ‘Gainbitcoin.com’, had defrauded investors of crores of rupees by luring them of huge returns in the name of Bitcoin mining. Raj Kundra was also accused in the same case. ED had alleged that Raj Kundra had received 285 bitcoins from the main accused Amit Bhardwaj, whose current value is estimated to be around Rs 150.47 crore.

Dubai businessmen were also involved
In this case, summons was also issued to Dubai based businessman Rajesh Satija. Both the accused were directed to appear in the court on January 19. In September 2025, ED had made Raj Kundra and Rajesh Satija accused by filing a supplementary charge sheet in the special court in the cases registered under PMLA.

Raj Kundra had refused to give information
Raj Kundra was also accused of refusing to provide information about the ‘wallet address’ of these bitcoins. According to the investigating agency, Kundra transacted properties with his wife at prices much below the market rate to make the proceeds of crime appear legitimate.
