How to create a parent-managed account for children?
First of all, install WhatsApp on your child’s phone.
Open WhatsApp, select language, tap on Agree and continue.
After this tap on More option and select Create a parent managed account.
Complete the verification process by entering your child’s phone number.
After this, confirm the age of the child and tap on Continue to complete the linking process.
Account linking process
After creating the child’s account, scan the QR code visible on his device with your phone. After this a link will come to connect both the accounts. Agree to this and tap on Continue. With this, WhatsApp will be able to verify adult supervision. After this you generate a 6 digit parent PIN. With its help you will be able to access privacy and safety settings on the child’s phone. Do not share it with the child. Enter the PIN and tap Next. After tapping on Done here, the setup process will be completed.
Parent-managed account will focus only on messaging and calling
In the account meant for children, the focus is only on messaging and calling. In this, features like WhatsApp status, Meta AI, channel and view once in one-to-one conversations will not be available like a normal account. However, all personal conversations will remain private and end-to-end encrypted like a normal account.
