Abhishek Bachchan has kept his distance from IPL despite being the co-owner of PKL team Jaipur Pink Panthers and ISL football team Chennaiyin FC. Many Bollywood celebs from Shahrukh Khan to Preity Zinta have invested in IPL.
But, Abhishek Bachchan has not bought any team in IPL. Now recently the actor has revealed the reason behind this. In an interview given to Forbes, Abhishek Bachchan told why he did not buy any team in IPL.
For this reason Abhishek Bachchan did not buy IPL team
The actor said, ‘This is very fun. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like IPL. I think this game is the pinnacle of entertainment. I wanted to be involved in it, but at that time, to be honest, when it started, it was very expensive.
Abhishek Bachchan further said, ‘I was a budding actor at that time. My films had just started performing well. I started earning decently, but it was out of my budget.
Talking further about this, Abhishek Bachchan said, ‘The most important thing was that I knew what contribution I could make. BCCI does very good work, so what can I contribute to it. I am not that person who sits in the stands and gets happy, waves and says, ‘Wow, a star has arrived’, I am not that kind of person.
Abhishek Bachchan further told that at that time he did not know as much about this game as he does now. He said that he knew more about other sports but should not give up because something might happen in the future.
Talking about buying the team, Abhishek said, ‘If you have seen me in the matches, I am very involved. I sit with the players. I live with them. If possible, I also give them training. I also take care of their daily food. I manage everything meticulously, I like doing this kind of work more.
