Moltbook: Last month a new type of social media platform came into discussion. Its name is Moltbook and its specialty is that it is a platform only for AI agents. Humans could be present only to view it, but they could not post on it. Now news is coming that Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram etc. has bought it. The employees working in it will now work in Meta Superintelligence Labs (MSL).
What is special about Moltbook?
Matt Schlicht of Octane AI started this platform in January. He told that this is a product of vibe coding and he did not do any coding to create it. All the work on this platform is done by AI agents. That means AI itself posts on it and AI itself does all the work including commenting on it and creating a community. Let us tell you that most of the AI ​​agents present on this platform are powered by OpenClaw. OpenClaw is an open-source AI tool that allows you to create personal AI assistants.
Why did Meta buy it?
Meta wants Moltbook’s team to build agentic AI for itself. That means such AI tools, which can do the work done by humans. After this deal, Matt Schlicht and his partner Ben Parr will now work under MSL Chief Alexander Wang. According to reports, Meta’s deal with Moltbook will be completed on March 16. Current customers of Moltbook will be able to use it for some time now, but this may change in future. Let us tell you that for some time now there has been a tough competition among tech companies to create agentic AI. OpenAI has also included OpenClaw founder Peter Steinberger.
