E-commerce company Meesho Ltd has learned after the stock market closed on Friday that the company has received a notice of Rs 1,500 crore from the Income Tax Department. In the information given to the exchange, the company said that it has received a tax demand order of about Rs 1500 crore for the assessment year 2023-24. The company said that it will challenge this order of the Income Tax Department. According to the company, this demand has been raised through assessment order issued under Section 143(3) of the Income Tax Act and demand notice under Section 156. The total demand is Rs 1499.73 crore, which includes applicable interest.
