Pakistan stunned after the death of soldiers, attacked Afghanistan with drones, situation worsened on the border

War has started once again between Pakistan and Afghanistan. The armies of both the countries are attacking each other with artillery and tanks on the Spin Boldak-Chaman border. The Pakistani Army attacked the campus of Kunar University with a drone around 11 am on Monday (27 April 2026), in which a professor and two students are reported to have been seriously injured. In such a situation, in response to the Pakistani Army’s attack on an educational institution, Afghanistan has started attacking Pakistan.

Afghanistan’s surgical strike on Pakistani post

On Sunday (April 26, 2026), Pakistan had also targeted the Angoor Adda border post of the Afghanistan Army with a drone. After this, the Afghan army crossed the Spin Boldak border and conducted a surgical strike on the Pakistani post, killing 4 Pakistani soldiers and taking 1 Pakistani soldier hostage and took them away from Afghanistan. In this operation conducted at midnight, the Afghan army also captured the weapons of Pakistani soldiers.

A video of a child running outside to save his life has also surfaced after the Pakistani Army attack on Syed Jamaluddin Afghani University located in Kunar, Afghanistan. According to the Defense Ministry of Afghanistan, retaliatory action was taken in Spin Boldak area near Durand Line.

Last month both countries agreed on ceasefire

Pakistan and Afghanistan had agreed on a temporary ceasefire from March 18 to 23 in view of Eid, but Afghanistan alleges that Pakistan’s army is shelling despite the ceasefire. Afghanistan’s armed forces chief Fasihuddin Fitrat has many times alleged that Pakistan’s army is violating the ceasefire on the Durand Line.

When Afghanistan cornered Pakistan on international forums over the attack on civilians, Pakistan said that it had not targeted any civilian target but military infrastructure and ‘terrorist infrastructure’. Afghan Foreign Minister Aamir Khan Muttaki recently said that more than 408 people were killed and more than 260 were injured in the Pakistani attack, most of whom were patients undergoing treatment at de-addiction centers.
