Himangi Sakhi was formally ordained as the country’s first Kinnar Shankaracharya in a grand conference organized at Lal Ghati under the joint aegis of Kinnar Akhara and Saffron Party on Sunday (February 15, 2026) in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri. He was conferred the title of Shankaracharya amid Vedic chanting and religious rituals.
This important announcement was made in the program in the presence of Kinnar Akhara founder Rishi Ajay Das. A large number of representatives, saints and followers of the Kinnar community from all over the country participated in the conference. During the event, many eunuchs who had converted to Muslim religion were returned home and re-entered into Sanatan Dharma through purification process.
The first Kinnar Shankaracharya Peeth will be established in Pushkar, Rajasthan.
At the same time, the Peeth located in Pushkar, Rajasthan was declared as the first Kinnar Shankaracharya Peeth of the country. Himangi Sakhi Maa is the head of Vaishno Kinnar Akhara and is also known as the first Kinnar Bhagwat narrator.
Jagatguru and Mahamandaleshwar were also announced
Rishi Ajay Das, founder of Kinnar Akhara, said that in the conference, Mahants including Shankaracharya, Jagatguru and Mahamandaleshwar were also announced under the Kinnar tradition. During this, Kajal Thakur (Bhopal), Tanisha Sanatani (Jaipur), Sanjana (Bhopal) and Sanchita (Maharashtra) were nominated for the post of Jagatguru. At the same time, Rani Thakur, Mahi Sanatani, Sarita Bhargava, Manju Yadav, Prabha Patel, Nakusha, Palpal Guru Ujjain and Rani Thakur and others were decorated with the post of Mahamandaleshwar.

After Pattabhishek, Himangi Sakhi said in a discussion with the media that it is her responsibility to organize the Kinnar community and preserve it as per Sanatan tradition. He challenged those who raised objections to the post of Shankaracharya to debate on an open platform. Along with this, he also announced to establish Kinnar Peeth at various places.
On this occasion, National President of Saffron Party Shivakant Shukla, State President Shivkumar Bhargava, R.S. Khalsa, Saint Shri Satyanand Swami Ji Maharaj and representatives of Kinnar community from different states were present in large numbers. This conference and Pattabhishek ceremony organized on Mahashivratri is being considered as a historic and important step for the Kinnar community.
