Pawan Kheda reached Supreme Court for anticipatory bail, did not get relief from Guwahati High Court, know the whole matter

Assam Election 2026: Congress leader Pawan Khera has now reached the Supreme Court after his anticipatory bail was rejected by the Gauhati High Court. The whole matter started after he made controversial remarks on the wife of the Chief Minister of Assam. Also, the Assam High Court has considered this entire incident not as defamation but as a conspiracy. It has also been said that custodial interrogation should be done. After this order of the High Court, Pawan Kheda has reached the Supreme Court. In such a situation, the question is arising that if the Supreme Court also keeps the High Court’s decision permanent, then Pawan Kheda’s troubles may increase. Will be able to arrest them.

The matter came into controversy when Congress leader Pawan Kheda, in a press conference during the Assam election campaign, accused his wife of holding passports of three countries. On this, a case of forgery and defamation has been registered against him in Assam. The sword of arrest is hanging since his petition was rejected by the Gauhat High Court. Earlier, Telangana High Court had given him transit bail, which was stayed by the Supreme Court.

Congress leader Kheda had accused Sarma’s wife Riniki Bhuiyan Surma of allegedly having several foreign passports of UAE, Antigua and Barbuda-Egypt. Apart from this, it was also said by Kheda that he had two different properties in Dubai. Apart from this, it was alleged that there was assets worth Rs 52 thousand crore in the name of a firm named Riniki Bhuiyan Sarma Asset Collective LLC, registered in the state of Wyoming in the United States. On this, Assam CM Sarma and his wife have filed a case against him.

Here, Congress party has also supported Pawan Kheda. He has said that Congress leader will once again approach the Supreme Court demanding anticipatory bail for Pawan Kheda. Jairam Ramesh had given information about this through a post on social media.
