Rahul Chahar sold for Rs 5.2 crore, Sarfaraz Khan bought by Chennai; Rachin Ravindra also found a buyer

Sarfaraz Khan remained unsold in the first set of IPL 2026 auction, but he was bought by Chennai Super Kings in the second set. After this, CSK bought Rahul Chahar for Rs 5.2 crore, his base price was Rs 1 crore. Rachin Ravindra was also sold in the second bid, he was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders.

Sarfaraz Khan’s comeback

Sarfaraz Khan was bought by Chennai Super Kings for his base price (Rs 75 lakh). Sarfaraz has not played in the last 2 IPL editions, he was last part of Delhi Capitals in 2023. Sarfaraz has played for 3 teams (RCB, PBKS and DC) in IPL since 2015. In 50 matches played in IPL, he has scored 585 runs, he has been able to score only one half-century. If we look at his IPL record, he is still in search of his dream IPL season.

CSK also bought Rahul Chahar

Spinner Rahul Chahar was a part of Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last edition, although he got to play only 1 match. In that too he had bowled only 1 over. Before Hyderabad, he has played in Punjab Kings, Mumbai Indians. He made his IPL debut while playing for Rising Pune Supergiants.

The base price of Rahul Chahar in the IPL 2026 auction was Rs 1 crore. His former franchise Punjab Kings also wanted to buy him, which went up to Rs 5 crore for him. But Chennai Super Kings included Chahar in their team by bidding Rs 5.20 crore. Chahar has taken 75 wickets in 79 matches played in IPL.

KKR bought Rachin Ravindra

New Zealand all-rounder Rachin Ravindra was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for his base price. Rachin’s base price was Rs 2 crore, when his name came up, KKR made the first bid. Apart from them, no other team showed interest in buying Rachin. Rachin has scored 413 runs in 18 matches for CSK in IPL.
