TCS Nashik Unit Sexual Harassment Case: Big updates have come out in the cases of sexual harassment, rape and religious conversion. Here HR Nida Khan has absconded in TCS Nashik case. At present an FIR has been registered in this matter. This case is also in discussion because it is related to the country’s largest IT company. The entire incident has been recorded in the FIR. Information has been received from the FIR that no timely action was allegedly taken on the complaints made in the last several years. In the case, eight female employees have alleged that from 2022 to the beginning of 2026, they were subjected to continuous sexual harassment, rape, attempts to forcibly convert colleagues, and forceful insults. Apart from this, HR department-POSH is also under question. The officials associated with POSH have not taken any action on this. SIIT is investigating this matter. 7 people have been arrested in the entire case.

Those arrested are Asif Ansari, Danish Sheikh, Shafi Sheikh, Shahrukh Qureshi, Raza Memon and Tausif Attar. Operations Manager Ashwin Chainani associated with POSH has also been arrested. HR Nida Khan is absconding.

What has the company said in the whole matter?

Here, TCS has said that it has suspended all the employees who came under the investigation. The company is cooperating with legal agencies. Chairman N. Chandrasekaran has described the allegations as extremely worrying and sad. This matter is being taken seriously at the company level. Investigation is underway to ascertain the facts and identify the culprits.

What does company policy do in this type of case?

People associated with the company can complain about harassment and human rights related matters on the basis of formal grievance redressal structure. The company believes that complaints are reviewed. If they are found to be true, action is taken against them. The entire matter is dealt with confidentially. Apart from this, no retaliatory action is taken against the complainant. The company adopts zero tolerance policy in this matter.

What does the law say?
Complaints of sexual harassment are formally registered under the POSH Act. The internal committee looks into this entire matter. The matter is resolved within the time limit.

This entire matter should be investigated within 90 days. Both sides get a chance to present their views. Complaints are dealt with confidentially. In such a situation, the complainant should get protection, but this does not happen. The complaint should not be limited to the supervisor’s session only. Nor should they be dealt with informally.

What information is given in the FIR?

  • 9 FIRs have been registered in this case. It describes a pattern of alleged misconduct within multiple teams over different time periods. Employees including Tausif Attar, Danish Sheikh, Raza Memon, Shahrukh Qureshi and Shafi Sheikh have been accused of these things.
  • Apart from this, touching inappropriately inside the office premises, trying to create physical closeness. Making obscene comments and talking about women’s married life and personal life. Staring inappropriately and making obscene gestures during meetings. Repeatedly trying to forcefully initiate conversation or establish physical closeness, such as the allegation mentioned.

Made physical relations with promise of marriage, alleges woman

According to India Today news, the women alleged that Attar promised marriage. Create physical relations on the same basis. The girl accused three colleagues of sexual harassment, bullying and trying to force her to convert to Islam.

Other women have repeatedly spoken of being humiliated. This includes taunting for not having children. It involves trying to get physical despite refusal. Apart from these, he was also accused of making derogatory remarks on Hindu religion. In a complaint, the woman alleges that a complaint about Raza Memon and Shahrukh Qureshi was made to a senior officer. But no action was taken.

Increase in sexual harassment cases in TCS in last several years

In the last few years, it has come to light that there has been an increase in sexual harassment cases. In the last three years, it has been revealed that there has been a steady increase in the complaints of sexual harassment registered in TCS. According to a report of Money Control, the company has given partial credit for this to increasing awareness. TCS filed 125 complaints in financial year 2025, 110 in 2024 and 49 in 2023. Also, 36 cases have been reported in 2022 and 27 in 2021.

78 complaints were found registered in 2025. 23 complaints were not resolved. Among the complainants, only 0.06 were female employees. There would be 0.05 percent women in 2024 and 0.03 percent women in 2023.

Internal investigation of the company handed over to them

TCS Chief Operating Officer Aarti Subramaniam will lead the investigation in this matter. He said that appropriate and strict action will be taken against those found guilty. Any process improvements or corrective measures will be implemented immediately.
