Embarrassing news has come out from Sri Lankan cricket. Police have arrested two players of Sri Lanka’s Under-19 team, who were recording videos of women hiding in the hotel bathroom. This matter is from Narahenpita area of Colombo. Police are investigating the matter and finding out whether these players shared or uploaded the video online.
There was also a medical conference in the hotel where the Sri Lanka Under-19 team was staying and many women doctors had come there for this. These women doctors had complained that while they were taking bath in the bathroom, someone had secretly recorded their videos with their mobile phones. When the police started investigation, it was found that two of those who made the video were cricketers of the Under-19 team.
Cricketers got bail
Narahenpita police arrested both the young cricketers. The police presented him in the court, from where he got great relief. Both of them got bail after paying 5 lakh Sri Lankan rupees each. The police is investigating whether the videos made by these cricketers while women were bathing were not uploaded on any website. Or did not share it with anyone through social media platforms.

The next hearing of the case is on 25th (May). No official statement has come from the Sri Lanka Cricket Board in this matter yet. Nor is there any news of any action against him. It is believed that the board is waiting for the legal process.

The Sri Lanka Cricket Board is currently in a phase of change, a few days ago the Board President Shammi Silva and the entire executive committee had resigned. Now the government has formed a new transformation committee, in which Kumar Sangakkara is also included. This scandal became another new challenge for the committee formed to improve the image of Sri Lankan cricket.
