Tape pasted on BJP’s button in EVM, game on Mamata Banerjee’s nephew’s seat, sensational allegation by BJP during voting

Voting is going on for the second phase in West Bengal. Amidst the voting, allegations of election rigging are also being leveled against each other. Trinamool Congress (TMC) has been accused of election rigging in the area considered to be the stronghold of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s nephew and MP Abhishek Banerjee. BJP has alleged that at many polling booths in Phalta of Diamond Harbor area, tape has been pasted on the BJP button in EVM, so that people cannot vote for them.

TMC denied the allegations

TMC has denied BJP’s allegations. It has also been termed as the failure of the Election Commission and Supervisor IPS Ajay Pal Sharma. Whom Trinamool Congress had earlier accused of threatening its candidate.

BJP demanded re-voting

At the same time, BJP’s media in-charge Amit Malviya has demanded re-polling in all those affected booths of Falta, where such election rigging has allegedly taken place. He wrote in a post on social media, ‘At many polling stations, the option to vote for BJP has been removed by using tape, thereby preventing voters from choosing their option. This is the so-called ‘Diamond Harbor Model’, the same model that helped Mamata Banerjee’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee win the Lok Sabha seat.

TMC spokesperson Riju Dutta hit back at BJP’s allegations and said that observer Ajay Pal Sharma is roaming around in Falta and scaring people and the TMC candidate and his family. This entire matter comes under the purview of the Election Commission. What are they doing?’ He further said, ‘Instead of tweeting, Amit Malviya should complain that Gyanesh Kumar should be immediately dismissed and Ajay Pal Sharma should be suspended because they have not lived up to the expectations of BJP.’
