In Husna village of Salur mandal of Nizamabad district of Telangana, the festival of Holi is celebrated not only with colors but with a very unique and surprising tradition. Here, on the day of Holi, the village people divide themselves into two different groups and then a tradition begins which leaves anyone astonished. A thick rope is tied in the middle of the road in front of the Hanuman temple located in the middle of the village. The village people stand in two groups on either side of the rope. Every person holds the rope tightly with one hand and tightens the fist of the other hand and starts throwing punches at the person standing in front.
Within a few moments the atmosphere becomes very exciting and strange. An atmosphere of noise, laughter and enthusiasm is created all around. People throw punches at each other with full enthusiasm. To the onlookers it may seem like a fight, but for the villagers it is a traditional game that has been going on for generations. The most interesting thing is that this boxing lasts only for five to six minutes. As soon as the stipulated time is over, both sides suddenly stop. The same people who were throwing punches at each other a moment ago, are laughing and wishing each other a happy Holi the next moment.

The village people consider this strange tradition as a part of Holi celebration. He says that this ritual is a symbol of enthusiasm and brotherhood in the village. This tradition, which looks like a fight, has actually become a symbol of mutual reconciliation and enthusiasm. Every year on the day of Holi, people from nearby areas also reach here to see this unique scene. As strange as this game of punches seems, it is equally exciting amidst the festival of colors, where after the fight, only smiles and good wishes are left in the end.
