TMC has condemned the incidents happening in Bangladesh. The party said that it has always stood with the central government and the country on national issues. TMC issued a statement saying, ‘It is very dangerous on the part of some BJP leaders to say about the situation in Bangladesh and West Bengal and that such incidents can happen here too. In this matter, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar should give an explanation.
‘BJP trying to disturb communal harmony’
Trinamool Congress said, ‘If any violence or unrest occurs as a result of such statements, the entire responsibility for it will be on BJP leaders. Before the elections, BJP is trying to disturb the communal harmony in the state, but Mamata Banerjee’s mother-mother-manush government will not allow anything like this to happen in Bengal. It should not be forgotten that this is the same BJP which had once claimed that there is no such thing as Bengali language. The BJP MP from Ranaghat had even said that if his government comes to power, the India-Bangladesh border will be removed.
BJP MP’s statement regarding India-Bangladesh border
BJP MP from Ranaghat had said that if BJP comes to power in the 2026 assembly elections, there will be no barbed wire fence on the India-Bangladesh border. West Bengal BJP President Samik Bhattacharya expressed concern over the situation in Bangladesh and said that fundamentalists are behind the violence in the neighboring country. He said that it appears that he has control over the situation. Bhattacharya said that the Central Government and the Ministry of External Affairs are handling the situation appropriately and they will respond accordingly.
He said, ‘Fundamentalism and extremism are spreading like cancer in Bangladesh. All right thinking people should unite to fight this menace. Radical forces have been spreading their roots in Bangladesh since the 1980s. This has crossed all limits. As seen last night, even independent thinkers and liberal individuals are becoming victims of attacks. The whole world is suffering the brunt of fundamentalism. Only a nationalist government and party can face these challenges.
