Trinamool Congress (TMC) has announced the names of its 4 candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections in West Bengal. Babul Supriyo’s name is also included in the list of Rajya Sabha candidates. Apart from this, the names of Bengali actress Koyal Mallik, former West Bengal DGP Rajiv Kumar and senior lawyer Maneka Guruswamy are included in the list.
Rajya Sabha elections for five seats in Bengal
Let us tell you that elections are to be held for a total of 37 Rajya Sabha seats in 10 states of the country, voting will take place on March 16. West Bengal also has 5 seats in it. Based on the number of MLAs, Trinamool Congress is certain to get four seats and BJP one seat.

What is the mathematics of 5 Rajya Sabha seats of West Bengal?
5 Rajya Sabha seats of West Bengal have become vacant. If we look at the numbers game, it appears to be in favor of Trinamool Congress and BJP. It is considered certain that Mamata Banerjee’s TM will win four out of five seats in the Assembly with 223-225 MLAs. At the same time, BJP with 64-65 MLAs will get the required 49 votes to win one seat, due to which it will be able to send a Rajya Sabha member on its own strength for the first time.
Let us tell you that earlier out of these 5 Rajya Sabha seats, TMC had four seats while CPI-M (CPI-M) had one seat. But this time this seat seems to be slipping out of CPI(M)’s hands.
