Expressing objection to these allegations of Amit Shah, senior TMC leader and Lok Sabha MP Abhishek Banerjee has sharply targeted Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday (April 10, 2026). Along with this, while countering Shah’s comments on the issue of infiltration from Bangladesh, he also mentioned the ousted former Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina.
He asked Union Home Minister Amit Shah to clarify whether Bangladesh’s ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina should be called an infiltrator. Along with this, Abhishek Banerjee also questioned the role of the Home Ministry in the background of not being able to stop the terrorist attacks in Pahalgam and New Delhi last year.

According to the report of news agency PTI, TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee held a press conference in Kolkata on Friday (April 10, 2026) amid political activity in the state regarding the West Bengal Assembly elections. In this, he demanded Shah to clarify whether Sheikh Hasina should be called an infiltrator, who has been given shelter by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led central government.
Referring to Shah’s resolve to take strict action against infiltrators and track them down from far-flung corners, Abhishek alleged that the Union Home Minister was repeating the same thing again and again and spreading misinformation on the issue. He said, ‘If we talk about infiltration, then what is the status of ousted Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who has been living in India for the last one and a half years? Is he a Bangladeshi infiltrator?

Abhishek said, ‘How did Amit Shah fail to stop the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in which 26 Indians were killed? How did terrorists enter Delhi and kill 10 people? Why did Shah fail to provide security to these people?
