India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of torrential rain and thunderstorm in 11 states including UP, Bihar on May 1. During this period, there is a possibility of strong wind blowing at a speed of 60 to 70 kilometers per hour. According to the Meteorological Department, today there is a possibility of moderate to heavy rain in UP, Bihar, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Assam, Nagaland and West Bengal. There is also a possibility of hailstorm in many states.
Delhi weather
According to the Meteorological Department, an alert of heavy rain and hail has been issued in Delhi on May 1 also. During this period the wind speed is likely to be 50 to 60 km per hour. Today the maximum temperature in the capital is likely to reach 36 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature is likely to reach 24 degrees Celsius.
Hail fell in UP
The sudden rain, storm and hailstorm gave some relief to the people suffering from the scorching heat and intense sunlight in Uttar Pradesh, but at the same time it has also increased the problems of the people. From Lucknow to Noida, Ghaziabad and many districts of UP, a series of sunshine, clouds, strong winds, rain and hail were seen in a single day. The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of similar changes continuing in the coming days.
Mercury dropped by 7 degrees in Lucknow
The weather was pleasant in Lucknow on Thursday. Due to the effect of cold winds, the maximum temperature dropped by more than 7 degrees. While the mercury was 39.3 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, it dropped to 31.7 degrees Celsius on Thursday. The minimum temperature also dropped to 23 degrees Celsius. Light rain occurred in many parts of the city in the morning and late night, which provided considerable relief from the heat. According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature may increase again from Friday.
Where can hail fall?
IMD has expressed the possibility of hailstorm in many districts of the state. Especially in many districts including Banda, Chitrakoot, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Ghazipur and Ballia, warning of hailstorm has been issued. Apart from this, there is a possibility of partly cloudy sky and rain with thunder in other parts of Purvanchal and Western UP.

There is a possibility of heavy rain and storm in Gaya, Patna, Nalanda, Aurangabad, Rohtas, Saran, Bhojpur, Buxar, Vaishali, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Supaul, Saharsa, Purnia, Bhagalpur, Katihar, Araria, Kishanganj, Khagaria and Bhagalpur in Bihar adjoining Uttar Pradesh. Today the maximum temperature in Patna can go up to 32 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature can go up to 23 degrees Celsius.
Rain and storm alert in Rajasthan
Alert of heavy rain and storm has been issued in Jodhpur, Alwar, Sikar, Churu, Bikaner, Barmer, Karauli and Hanumangarh of Rajasthan. During this time the wind will blow at a speed of 50 km per hour. Today the maximum temperature in Jaipur will be 40 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature will be 27 degrees Celsius.
