Weather Forecast: Rain in 10 states on 17, 18 and 19! Meteorological Department’s warning, when will it rain in UP-Delhi, Punjab-Haryana?

The weather is changing rapidly in most parts of the country. In the month of February itself, March-like heat is being felt in many states. A continuous increase in temperature is being recorded, but in the meantime the rainy season is also about to begin. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rain in 10 states till 17, 18 and 19 February.

According to the Meteorological Department, due to the effect of a new Western Disturbance, there may be light to moderate rain in the western Himalayan regions and snowfall in the higher reaches on 17 and 18 February 2026. There is a possibility of light rain and thundershowers in the plains of North-West India. Apart from this, dense fog may also occur in some parts of Odisha in the morning till 18th February. The states where rain alert has been issued include Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Tamil Nadu.

Condition of cities of Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh

In Uttar Pradesh, the effect of worst disturbance can be seen mainly in the western districts. There is a possibility of light rain or drizzle in Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, Baghpat, Shamli, Ghaziabad and Noida on 17 and 18 February. However, no warning of heavy rain has been issued in the entire state. In Uttarakhand, there may be rain in Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Almora, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar districts on 17 and 18 February. There is a possibility of snowfall along with rain in high altitude areas on 18 and 19 February. The effect of snowfall is already being seen in the hilly areas.

How will the weather be in Delhi-NCR?

The temperature in Delhi-NCR may increase by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius on February 17, due to which heat will be felt in the afternoon. However, the weather may change in the next 24 hours and there is a possibility of light rain along with winds at a speed of 40 kilometers per hour.

Condition of Himachal Pradesh and Kashmir

There may be rain in Shimla, Mandi, Kangra, Sirmaur, Solan, Una, Hamirpur and Kullu districts of Himachal Pradesh on 17 and 18 February. There is a possibility of snowfall in high altitude areas on 18th and 19th February. There may be rain in Srinagar, Jammu, Kulgam, Kupwara, Baramulla, Bandipora and Anantnag of Jammu and Kashmir on February 17. There are signs of change in weather in some parts of Ladakh also.

Situation of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh

There is a possibility of cloud cover in Rajasthan in the afternoon and drizzle at some places. Hanumangarh, Sriganganagar, Bikaner and Churu may receive light rain on 17 and 18 February. Strong winds may also blow during this period. There is a possibility of rain with thunder and lightning in Madhya Pradesh on 18th and 19th February. There may be rainfall in Seoni, Katni, Chhindwara, Balaghat and Hoshangabad districts, while the weather is expected to be normal on February 17.

Weather condition in Bihar

There is no possibility of rain in Bihar at present. However, the effect of moderate fog and mild cold may persist in Mithilanchal and Seemanchal regions. Overall, amidst the increasing heat in February, the weather is going to take a turn again in many states due to extreme disturbances. The Meteorological Department has advised people to be careful according to the changing weather and keep an eye on the latest updates.
