Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) is protesting in Delhi on 23 December 2025. Recently, Hindu youth Dipu Chandra was murdered in Bangladesh, due to which there was an uproar outside the Bangladesh High Commission in Delhi. There has also been a clash between Delhi Police and VHP workers.
VHP workers detained
From 11 am today, Vishwa Hindu Parishad workers are gathering outside the Bangladesh High Commission demanding justice for the victim’s family. Meanwhile, the workers started removing the barricades, due to which the Delhi Police tried to chase away the workers. The police have detained some workers.
There is strong protest against Deepu’s murder across the country including Delhi, Kolkata, Bhopal and Jammu. Activists burnt the effigy of Mohammad Yunus in Delhi. Concern is also deepening regarding the safety of Indian citizens, especially medical students, stranded in Bangladesh.
Yunus government summoned Indian High Commissioner
India’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh Prannoy Verma was called to the Ministry of External Affairs just before 10 am on Tuesday. The Deputy High Commissioner of India was also present in this meeting. Bangladesh Foreign Secretary Asad Al Siam had summoned the High Commissioner.
According to sources in the Ministry of External Affairs, Prannoy Verma was summoned due to the growing security problem around Bangladesh missions in different parts of India. He was appealed to further strengthen the security of all the missions of Bangladesh in India.
Earlier on December 14 also, Pranay Verma was summoned. At that time, Bangladesh had expressed concern over the continuous provocative statements of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and sought cooperation from India to stop the killer of Inquilab Manch spokesperson Sharif Usman Hadi from escaping to India. Bangladesh requested that if the accused crosses the Indian border, he should be immediately arrested and handed over to Bangladesh.
There was a demonstration in Delhi 2 days ago also
There was a demonstration outside the Bangladesh High Commission in Delhi on Saturday night (20 December) in protest against the murder of a Hindu youth in Bangladesh. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal made it clear that this demonstration was very small and peaceful. There was no threat to the security of Bangladesh High Commission. Regarding this incident, he said that only 20 to 25 youth were involved in the demonstration.
Demand for justice for Dipu in Bangladesh too
On 22 December 2025, Hindu organizations and minority groups protested in front of the National Press Club of Dhaka against the murder of Dipu in Bangladesh. The protesters said that Deepu was innocent. He was falsely accused of blasphemy. After this, the fundamentalists beat him badly, hanged him from a tree and then burnt him alive.
The protesters said that the situation in Bangladesh is continuously worsening. He claims that since January this year, more than 50 non-Muslims have been murdered and false cases of blasphemy have been registered against many people.
Dipu was murdered due to dispute in the factory
According to the Dhaka Tribune report, 27-year-old Dipuchandra Das was a floor manager in a garment factory named Pioneer Knitwears (BD) Limited. He had recently appeared for the promotion examination for the post of supervisor. Senior manager of the factory, Saqib Mahmood, said that at around 5 pm, some workers started protesting inside the factory, accusing Deepu of hurting religious sentiments. Deepu’s brother Apu Chandra Das told that Deepu was already having disputes with many colleagues. These disputes were about working conditions, targets and benefits for workers.
On 18 December 2025, the dispute escalated and the floor in-charge of the factory forced Dipu to resign. After this he was taken out of the factory and handed over to the mob. Apu got a call from Deepu’s friend Himel that Deepu was being taken to the police station, but after some time it was learned that he had died. When Apu reached the spot, the dead body was found burnt.
