LCA Tejas fighter jet of the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed during landing after a trainee flight. This incident happened on 7th February this year. This accident happened at a forward airbase on the Pakistan border. It is a matter of relief that in this incident the pilot had ejected himself and came out safely.
This accident probably happened in Naliya, Gujarat. This is the third major Tejas accident in recent years. The first Tejas crash took place in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan in March 2024, in which the pilot ejected himself. The second incident took place during the Dubai Airshow in 2025, in which a Tejas fighter jet crashed. The pilot also lost his life in this accident. The investigation of this accident is still going on. However, the Indian Air Force has not yet issued any official statement in this regard.
According to sources, this incident occurred at the beginning of this month, when the fighter jet was landing after a routine training flight. Initial investigation has suggested a technical fault, which includes some glitch in the aircraft’s systems. Following this incident, the Indian Air Force has ordered an investigation of the entire Tejas fleet to identify any technical problems.
