Manipur Women Protest on NRC: Koirengei Awang Apunba Mira Paibi organized a massive protest rally in Imphal, Manipur on Sunday evening. In this, hundreds of women took to the streets and demonstrated to get their demands met.

Among the main demands raised during the protests were the implementation of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) before the upcoming census. To ensure uninterrupted movement on national highways. The Army should take strict action against alleged narco-terrorist activities. This included immediately stopping the resettlement of internally displaced persons (IDPs).

The protesters also expressed concern over the situation, which they termed a proxy war. Alleged that national highways should not be used by narco-terrorist groups. The protesters stressed the need to take more strict action to restore law and order and ensure the safety of common people.

During the demonstration, women’s concerns regarding indirect conflict were very serious. The women said that the government will have to take more strict steps to maintain peace in the state.

The protesting women said that national highways should not be used for any illegal activity. In the protest, women appealed to the government to take concrete action to strengthen law and order, increase security and fulfill their various demands.

Two people, including an army soldier, died on Saturday night.
Two people, including a retired Army jawan, were killed on Monday in an ambush by suspected armed militants on the Imphal-Ukhrul section of National Highway No. 202 in Manipur. According to the police, the attack took place near TM Kasom village located on the national highway in Ukhrul district at around 1.30 pm. Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand had strongly condemned this cowardly attack on civilians.
