However, the couple has openly defended their marriage and responded to their critics.
According to Pakistani news website Tribune, when the journalist reached Hakim Babar’s house, he and his wife clearly said that age is just a number. He says that marriage is a personal decision of two people and it is not right to make age difference an issue. Hakim Babar said that his marriage is both arranged and love marriage. According to him, they liked each other and got married with mutual consent, taking the relationship forward. He told that after the pictures of Nikah went viral on social media, people started making various types of comments.
A man should be young at heart – Babar
In response to questions raised on getting married at the age of 70, Babar said that a person should be young at heart. He also told that his wife is divorced and called Nikah as a right and valid relationship. Babar says that instead of having a secret relationship, it is better and respectable to marry openly.
Plan to celebrate honeymoon in Netherlands
The bride also supported her husband’s words and said that age does not matter in true love. According to him, if you find a partner who cares for you, then you should not delay in getting married. He said that he is not bothered by the criticism on social media. It is being told that the couple is planning to go to Saudi Arabia for Umrah after Eid and after that they plan to celebrate honeymoon in Netherlands.
