‘Rahul Gandhi doesn’t know that Jalebi is not made in a factory’, why did Ravi Shankar Prasad say this in Parliament?

BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad, while targeting the opposition on the no-confidence motion brought against the Speaker in the Lok Sabha, said that no compromise can be made with the Prime Minister of India. He raised the question why this no-confidence motion has been brought. Prasad said that during the debate, Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi repeatedly mentioned a book which has not been published yet. He sarcastically asked who declared a book which has not been printed as ‘authentic’.

Taunt on Rahul Gandhi
He further said that the no-confidence motion has already been debated twice in the Parliament and there is a tradition of the House, which has to be followed. Meanwhile, Prasad also took a dig at Rahul Gandhi and said that he does not even know that Jalebi is not made in a factory. He said that only the two leaders who have given statements should be quoted on this issue.

What did Rahul Gandhi say?
Speaking in Parliament, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi said, ‘The discussion here is about the democratic process and the role of the Speaker. Many times my name has been taken and baseless things have been said about me. This House is the expression of the people of India. It does not represent any one party, but the entire country. Every time we stand up to speak, we are stopped from speaking. Last time I spoke, I raised a fundamental question about the agreements made by our Prime Minister.”

After this, Dilip Sakia, sitting on the chair, said that after Ravi Shankar Prasad, Rahul Gandhi will be allowed to speak. After Rahul Gandhi’s address, Ravi Shankar Prasad attacked him fiercely.
