Iran-US War: Iran war increases the troubles of the American people! Petrol and diesel became expensive, flight ticket prices increased

Due to tension with Iran, the prices of jet fuel (airplane fuel) are increasing rapidly. This is affecting American airlines. They are having to cancel some flights and increase ticket prices. On this issue, there was a heated debate in the US Congress regarding the government’s energy policy and cuts in alternative fuel schemes. In a Senate hearing, Senator Maria Cantwell questioned Energy Minister Chris Wright about rising prices and the government’s decision to reduce support for sustainable aviation fuel.

Cantwell said that the news was published on the front page of the Seattle Times that flights were being canceled due to expensive fuel. He also said that Alaska Airlines may have to spend hundreds of millions of dollars more on fuel this quarter. Airlines have already announced cuts to their spring schedules as rising fuel costs are becoming difficult to handle. According to industry data, the price of jet fuel was around $100 a barrel at the end of last year, rising above $200 this month, although it came down slightly later.

attributed to government policies

Cantwell blamed government policies for the pressure on airlines. He criticized cutting tax breaks to promote sustainable aviation fuel. He urged the administration to support efforts to reduce dependence on Middle East oil. “Let’s go out of our way to diversify our fuel sources, so we’re not so dependent on Middle East oil,” Cantwell said. Wright said high prices are a concern, but he defended the administration’s approach. He said, absolutely, and I also believe the same. I will say that it is disappointing to see energy prices a little higher right now. Still, they are significantly lower than prices four years ago. Cantwell disagreed. He said, there is no one in the North-West region who thinks that what is happening right now is right; Especially not when they wake up in the morning and see that airlines are canceling flights due to high fuel costs.

Diesel and petrol both expensive

US Energy Minister Chris Wright said that alternative fuels are still expensive and the infrastructure required for them is also limited. He said that the high cost of sustainable aviation fuel and limited supply networks are also playing a role in increasing prices. Cantwell believes that government support is necessary to advance new technologies. If incentives are reduced, the development of new energy technologies in the aviation sector may slow down. This dispute is happening at a time when fuel prices are increasing across the economy. Both diesel and petrol have become expensive, due to which the cost of travel and transportation is increasing. Airlines are now recovering these increased costs from passengers through ticketing and other charges. If fuel prices remain high like this then more problems may be seen in future.
