Outcry from Kolkata to Siliguri! Cylinder not found even after 12 days, police had to take charge

West Bengal News: These days, concerns about LPG cylinders are increasing in many districts of West Bengal including the capital Kolkata. Due to problems in online gas booking, common people are facing a lot of problems. Many people say that while booking online, it is not clear whether the gas has been booked or not.

There have also been complaints of server glitches due to the unusually high number of bookings. For this reason, long queues are being seen outside gas agencies since morning in many districts including Kolkata. Many people are reaching the gas office with their problems even during working days.

Protests at many places

People’s anger was also seen in some areas due to non-availability of gas cylinders. Customers protested outside the office of Indane Gas Distributor in Mathabhanga. People say that despite booking gas 10 to 12 days in advance, they did not receive the cylinder.

Police had to be called to the spot to handle the situation, after which the situation came under control. However, this problem is not limited to Mathabhanga only, rather the same situation is being seen in many other cities also.

Long queues in many cities

In areas like Siliguri, Ranaghat, Jalpaiguri, Chunchura, Rampurhat and Vardhaman, there are long queues of people outside the gas agencies. People are reaching outside the agencies early in the morning and waiting for their turn, because clear information is not available in online booking.

Trouble increased due to panic booking

Gas distributors say that suddenly “panic booking” has started happening in large numbers in panic. Due to this reason, the stock of LPG is decreasing rapidly and the server has also come under pressure. A customer said, “He reached the gas office at 7:30 in the morning because online booking was not possible.” Another customer said, “He had booked several days ago, but has not received the cylinder yet.” Some people have been trying online continuously for 4-5 days, still the booking is not being done.

People say that they have been standing in the queue since 9:30 in the morning, but they still do not understand when the gas will be available. It is clear from this that the glitches in the online system and the increasing demand have further increased the problems of the people.
