Why is this change being made?
Meta has not yet officially said anything about the reasons for this change, but it is believed that this feature is being discontinued due to the increasing concern about Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) on the Internet. Turning off end-to-end encryption will allow Instagram to scan messages and calls and detect CSAM and other objectionable content.
