Bengal Weather: Rain alert in South Bengal, weather will change with strong winds in many districts

West Bengal Weather Update: According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain in many districts of South Bengal from Sunday to Tuesday. Especially in Murshidabad, Birbhum and East-West Bardhaman districts, more rain has been predicted. At the same time, the amount of rain may be more in Bankura and Purulia also. The Meteorological Department said that there is a possibility of increase in rain activity in North Bengal from Sunday.

According to IMD sources, there may be rain with lightning in Murshidabad, Jhargram, Birbhum and West Medinipur on Saturday. Although no yellow alert has been issued on that day, a yellow alert has been issued on Sunday, March 15. During this period, strong winds can blow at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour and there will be rain with thunder in many areas.

Rain will increase on Sunday and Monday

According to the Meteorological Department, rain activity may increase further in South Bengal on Sunday and Monday. There is a possibility of heavy rain with strong winds in Birbhum, Murshidabad, East-West Bardhaman, Bankura and Purulia. Yellow alert is likely to continue on Monday and the weather is expected to remain bad till Tuesday.

Meteorologists say that due to the cyclonic effect in Bangladesh and surrounding Ganga region, moisture is increasing in the atmosphere, due to which South Bengal will remain cloudy and create rainy conditions.

Storm and rain in North Bengal also

There is a possibility of thunderstorm and rain with strong winds at the speed of 50 kilometers per hour in Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, Cooch Behar and North Dinajpur of North Bengal. Light rain and thunderstorm may occur in other districts. There is a possibility of partly cloudy sky in Kolkata at present and the weather is expected to remain dry till Saturday. However, change in weather may start from Sunday.

According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature may increase by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in the next two days. But due to clouds and rain from Monday, the temperature may drop again.
