US President Donald Trump has said that America is preparing to send warships to the Strait of Hormuz. He has also appealed to other countries to send their ships to protect this important sea route. The Strait of Hormuz is considered very important for the supply of oil in the world. Due to recent tensions, concerns about security have increased in this area. After this appeal of Trump, China and Britain have given their response. However, both the countries did not clarify whether they would send their warships to this area or not.
A spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy in the US said that China wants the hostilities to end immediately and all parties to ensure stable and uninterrupted energy supply. He also said that China will try to reduce tension and restore peace by strengthening its relations with the countries of the Middle East. Similarly, a spokesperson for Britain’s Defense Ministry said that the UK, along with its allied countries, is discussing several options to ensure the safety of ships in this area.
What did Trump say against Iran?
Earlier, Trump had written on the social media platform Truth Social that many countries along with America will send warships to keep the Strait of Hormuz open and safe. He expressed hope that countries like China, France, Japan, South Korea and Britain can also join it.
Trump also claimed that after the American action, Iran’s military capability has been destroyed to a great extent. However, he said that this sea route could still be at risk from drones, mines or short-range missiles. Apart from this, Trump said in another post that Iran’s plan was to capture the entire Middle East and destroy Israel, but now its plans have failed.
