COCOMI Rally in Imphal: There is news of chaos again in Manipur. A big rally was organized in the state on Saturday. COCOMI took out this rally in Imphal. This is a committee. Its full name is Coordination Committee on the Integrity of Manipur. It works for the integrity of Manipur and for providing rights to the people of the state.
Thousands of people participated in this rally. During this time the people marching turned towards the CM residence. Their purpose was to submit a memorandum to the Chief Minister. Six big demands were written in it.
Clash between protesters and police
According to news agency ANI, as the rally progressed, the atmosphere kept worsening. There was a clash between the protesters and the police. During this, the police used tear gas to disperse the rally. However, there is no news of any injuries to the protesters. But the atmosphere remains tense in the area.
The rally started at 1 pm on Saturday in Imphal. People had come from different areas. People came here from different places. Among them, people came from different areas of Imphal, Lamlong Bazaar, Lamboi Khongnangkhong, Kakwa Kettle, Tiddim Ground, Hao Ground and Oriental College.
Apart from these, many people also came from Keshamthong, Wangoi and Khangemballi. All of them are associated with the Meitei community. Their number was in thousands. They had banners and posters in their hands. Apart from this, slogans were also being raised. People said that they want to convey their demands to the government.
What is the demand of the protesters?
They have many big demands. These included demands like restoration of peace and normal life. Along with this, demands like stopping the ongoing violence in Manipur, ensuring the safety of the common people, the government’s responsibility for the safety of the people living in Manipur, action against those responsible for the violence, securing the land of the local people in Manipur, no one from outside should be able to take the land are included.
The crowd of protesters was moving towards the CM House, when the police administration stopped them, and a clash broke out between the protesters and the police. Police have said that the situation is under control. Everywhere is being monitored.
