‘Mogambo is happy…’, Donald Trump again gave statement on PM Modi, Congress leader Kharge took a dig

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday took a dig at US President Donald Trump’s latest statement regarding Narendra Modi. He took sarcasm by quoting a dialogue from a Hindi film. He said that Trump has tried to say that Mogambo was happy after reducing oil purchases from Russia, but the question is why Prime Minister Narendra Modi is bowing before him. He also said that India is not a country to bow down.

On a question related to India’s alleged reduction in the purchase of crude oil from Russia, Trump said, ‘Prime Minister Narendra Modi knows that Trump is not happy with the purchase of oil from Russia and in such a situation it is necessary to please him.’

Kharge took sarcasm by speaking the dialogue of the 1987 film

Kharge took a dig at the US President’s statement by quoting the famous dialogue Mogambo Khush Hua from the famous 1987 Hindi film Mr. India. Amrish Puri played the role of Mogambo in this film. Anil Kapoor and Sridevi were also in lead roles.

The Congress President said, ‘There is a dialogue in the movie Mr. India that Mogambo was happy. Similarly, Trump has tried to say that Mogambo was happy. If people with this kind of thinking try to intimidate, India is not going to bow down.

He asked, ‘But why Modi ji is rubbing his nose in front of him, I don’t know.’

What did Jairam Ramesh write on social media?

Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh posted on Twitter, ‘The Prime Minister’s good friend sitting in the White House continues to have a sometimes warm, sometimes soft attitude towards India. He has once again threatened that if India does not stop buying oil from Russia, America will impose higher duties on imports from India.

He sarcastically said, ‘All the events like Namaste Trump, Howdy Modi, (forced) hugs and all the social media posts praising the US President had no significant impact.’

What did the President of America say?

Speaking to reporters on Air Force One on Sunday from Florida to Washington DC, Trump said, ‘They (India) basically wanted to please me. Modi is a very good person, he is a good person. He knew that I was not happy and it was important to make me happy. They trade and we can raise tariffs on them very quickly. This will be very bad for them.

Reaction came after Lindsey Graham’s statement

Trump’s comments came after the statement of US Senator Lindsey Graham, who was present with him on Air Force One. Graham said that due to the tariffs imposed on India by Trump, India is now buying much less oil from Russia. Graham mentioned his tariff bill, which provides for a 500 percent duty on imports from countries that buy Russian oil.
