Telangana Assembly Speaker gave a big relief to Jagityal MLA Sanjay Kumar by giving him a ‘clean chit’ in the defection case. The Speaker has rejected the petition filed by opposition leader Jagadish Reddy accusing Sanjay of disqualification.
In his decision, the Speaker has clearly said that no concrete and legal evidence has been presented by the MLA about changing party, due to which the attack of disqualification on him would not be justified. Let us tell you that this matter was in discussion for a long time, when Jagadish Reddy had alleged that Sanjay Kumar has changed the party breaking the public trust and deserves to lose the membership of the Assembly.
No concrete evidence found
After a long hearing and examination of documents on this petition filed under the Tenth Schedule, the Speaker gave the final verdict. While leaving the Speaker’s chamber, the news came to light that no concrete evidence could be found to present the allegations against the MLA.
Big blow for Jagadish Reddy camp
According to sources, the Speaker made it clear in his order that no public representative can be disqualified on the basis of mere allegations. This decision is also a message for all those MLAs who are in similar political crisis. On the other hand, this decision is being considered a big blow in Jagadish Reddy’s camp. Analysts believe that this decision can also put a stop to the politics of ineligibility in the state’s politics.
This victory of Sanjay Kumar has strengthened his political position and now all eyes are on whether the opposition approaches the High Court against this decision or accepts it. At present, this decision of the Speaker has given rise to a new debate in the Assembly.
