‘If Gopinath Bordolai had not been there, Assam would not have been a part of India’, Amit Shah’s big claim

Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived at the inauguration of Shrimant Sankardev Avirbhav Kshetra in Nagaon district of Assam. Here he participated in the event. During this he addressed the gathering. Remembering the great man Srimanta Sankardev, Shah said that he has strengthened the cultural roots of India through the Bhakti movement.

Amit Shah said in the inauguration program of Batadrava Thana Redevelopment Project, ‘Today I also want to remember Bharat Ratna Gopinath Bordoloi. If Gopinath had not been there, we would not have had this part of Assam and the entire North-East India. It was Gopinath ji who forced Jawaharlal Nehru to keep Assam in India.

‘500 years ago Shankardev gave the message of one India’

He said, ‘500 years ago, Shankar Dev had given the message of one India to those who want to break India. Today Modi ji is taking it forward. No one wants to talk politics, but whatever good has happened should be appreciated.

‘I congratulate Himanta, he drove out the infiltrators’

Shah said, ‘There were Bangladeshi infiltrators at the memorial place of Shrimant Shankar Dev, was it right? I congratulate Himanta ji that he drove out the infiltrators from this place. More than one lakh bighas of land has been freed from infiltrators. Kaziranga was also captured by infiltrators. The Congress party kept promoting them for years.

‘Infiltrators were settled by bringing IMDT Act’

He said, ‘By bringing the IMDT Act in 1983, they created a legal way for infiltrators to settle here. On the land of Shrimat Shankar Dev, I want to say that BJP has resolved that it will work to remove infiltrators not only from Assam but from the entire country.

Himanta Biswa Sarma freed the culture here from the influence of infiltrators. The Congress government was in power for so many years, they did nothing for the martyrs of the Assam movement. For the development of Assam, all kinds of development works were done under the leadership of PM Modi.
