Bhairav Light Commando Battalion is that unit of the Indian Army, which in today’s modern times, apart from traditional warfare, is fully capable of showing its skills in warfare through technology and modern equipment. The commandos of this battalion have been specially prepared for hybrid warfare. It blends traditional warfare with drone surveillance and electronic disruption and small team action.
Bhairav Light Commando Battalion has been created keeping in mind the needs of present-day hybrid warfare, which is a unit between conventional infantry and Para Special Forces (SF) in the Indian Army. Its main objective is to reach the targets of enemies hidden in inaccessible areas, dodging their security cordons, drone surveillance and AI sensors and carry out strategic operations. Why is black or red color applied on faces?
Giving information in this regard, defense expert Brigadier Arun Sehgal said that the face rituals of Bhairav Battalion are part of their strategic operations. Battalion soldiers paint their faces with black or red oil paint to camouflage themselves during action. This is very important for them or any other military force.
He said that today’s time is such where through sensors based on Artificial Intelligence (AI), soldiers can be identified even if their faces are covered. Therefore, soldiers have to coat their faces with black or red paint so that AI-based sensors have difficulty identifying them. Apart from this, it is a strategy to deceive the snipers deployed at enemy positions.
