The accused of double murder and a reward of Rs 5 lakh was caught after 16 years, CBI arrested from Delhi

The Jaipur team of CBI’s Anti-Corruption Branch has finally arrested a declared criminal from Delhi who was absconding for 16 years in a double murder case. A reward of Rs 5 lakh was declared on the accused and he was living in hiding by changing his name for a long time.

Case related to double murder case

According to CBI officials, the name of the arrested accused is Paras Ram alias Raju Sharma. This case is related to a double murder case registered in the year 2011. This case was registered on the instructions of Jaipur Bench of Rajasthan High Court.

Incident in Cama area of ​​Rajasthan in 2010

According to the investigating agency, the incident took place on 29 July 2010 in Cama area of ​​Rajasthan. That day, several accused with weapons forcibly entered the house of a person and started firing indiscriminately with country-made pistols. In the firing, two people died on the spot while two others were seriously injured. The dead also included a father and son, who were members of the family of an Additional Sessions Judge at that time.

There was a reward of Rs 5 lakh on the accused

During the investigation, many accused were identified in this case, but Paras Ram was absconding since the beginning. The court had declared him a proclaimed offender and a reward of Rs 5 lakh was also kept on his arrest. Due to his absconding, the trial proceedings against him were also stalled.

CBI caught the accused

CBI Inspectors Durgadas Rathore and Ramesh Kumar Nehra came to know through technical input and intelligence that the accused had changed his identity and was living under the name Raju Sharma. After this, the CBI team traced his whereabouts and arrested him from Delhi on 5 March 2026. After the arrest, the accused was produced in the court, from where the court sent him on police remand for 3 days. CBI says that further investigation in the case is going on and the people with whom the accused was in contact while he was absconding is also being investigated.
